Fun fact: according to the writers, Marty disappearing in this wasnt him necessarily getting erased but rather the timeline sort of “correcting” itself, see the reason Marty didnt disappear before were the numerous possibilities that his parents would still fall in love, however in this occasion of the dance only two possibilities can occur, George going back for Lorraine or not, the less the possibilities the more the disappearing occurs as the timeline was essentially deciding which one would occur and if that said occasion would make it possible for Marty to still be alive and not disappear.
